Jen Aniston to direct first feature film

Jennifer Aniston is to step behind the camera and direct her first feature film, The Sun reported Monday.

The “Friends” star follows in the footsteps of fellow Hollywood actress Drew Barrymore, who just released debut flick “Whip It!”

Aniston, famed for being unlucky in love, appeared in a string of romantic comedies since “Friends” finished in 2004.

“I have a project in development I’m going to direct,” the 41-year-old said.

“After you get enough movies under your belt you sit back and go, ‘What’s next?’ It’s getting to a time where creatively I want to turn in a different direction.”

Male stars to have made the leap from spotlight to director’s chair include Clint Eastwood and Mel Gibson.

Aniston dabbled with film making in 2006, co-directing short film “Room 10” with pal Andrea Buchanan.
