Lady Gaga inspired by Freddie Mercury

The transformation of Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta into Lady Gaga started with Freddie Mercury, according to singer Wendy Starland, who has since taken credit for “discovering” Gaga. “We had to create something that . . . would have a more theatrical type of appearance,” Strickland told MTV News.

“We looked to Queen and Freddie Mercury and the song ‘Radio Gaga’ for inspiration.” In September, Starland filed a lawsuit in Newark federal court against Gaga’s former manager, Rob Fusari, for compensation allegedly promised for introducing Gaga to him.
