Eccentric director Tony Kaye gave a bizarre introduction to his “Detachment” at the Tribeca Film Festival. He whipped out his guitar and had the audience chanting, “I don’t care,” as he strummed. The movie, produced by Paper Street Film’s Austin Stark and Benji Kohn, stars Adrien Brody as a substitute teacher. In an emotional speech, Brody said his father had been a public school teacher, and he wanted the role to honor his life. Blythe Danner, who is in the film with James Caan and Christina Hendricks, led the applause.
