Looks like boisterous Brooklyn Congressman Anthony Weiner has snagged Hillary Clinton‘s blessing for the 2013 mayoral race. Political insiders suspected that Public Advocate Bill de Blasio would have landed her endorsement, as he managed her 2000 US Senate campaign. But Weiner married her longtime aide, Huma Abedin, last year and dines regularly with Clinton, and now it seems de Blasio will have to campaign without the support of his former boss. As long as Hillary is secretary of state, she cannot endorse a candidate. “The Clintons have known Huma for 15 years. She is Hillary’s closest aide. Bill Clinton married Anthony and Huma,” a source close to the Clintons told us. “Bill [de Blasio] worked for her for one year a decade ago. I don’t think it’s going to be a close call, assuming of course she isn’t secretary of state anymore and can endorse.” Reps for Clinton and de Blasio had no comment.
