Womanizing Kiss star Gene Simmons has finally set a date to marry Shannon Tweed, his long-suffering girlfriend of 28 years. The couple are to wed at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Oct. 1. Many doubted the pair, who have two grown-up kids, Nick and Sophie, would make it up the aisle after sharp-tongued and spandex-wearing Simmons proposed to Tweed on his A&E reality show, “Gene Simmons Family Jewels.” The show followed their therapy sessions after Simmons’ claim that he has slept with nearly 5,000 women, adding in a later interview, “A lot of them didn’t get a lot of sleep.” After the proposal was aired, Tweed said that there was “slim chance” of them really getting wed. She told People, “You’re seeing this happy family … but in my heart, I am dying.” She added she needed commitment for the relationship to work. Well, now it looks like she might get it. Invites have just gone out for the wedding, sources tell us. A Simmons rep confirmed the Oct. 1 date.
