Bill Clinton was nearly in the doghouse with the East Hampton police while he walked one of Hillary’s pooches in the wake of Hurricane Irene. The Georgica and Main beaches — nearby the Clintons’ rented Lily Pond Lane house — were cordoned off to bar pedestrians following the storm. But, spies say, Bubba decided it was safe to stroll on the sand anyway. He was soon stopped by a cop who “kicked him off the beach,” said a source. The run-in with the Hamptons enforcer didn’t seem to crimp the ex-president’s style. Witnesses spotted him in town at The Palm on Thursday night, making the rounds and “shaking everyone’s hands at dinner. In return, the entire dining room sang a belated happy birthday to him,” said one spy. Clinton, who turned 65 on Aug. 19, was at the steakhouse with 10 of his pals, and Jon Bon Jovi was also spotted in the place with a group of friends. The former commander-in-chief and the rocker spent some serious time powwowing, a witness said. Hillary, meantime, had decamped to Paris for the “Friends of Libya” conference. A Clinton rep didn’t return calls for comment.
