Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber caused quite a stir when they walked through LAX airport earlier this week, with Gomez wearing what appeared to be a diamond ring on her left ring finger. But reps for the young couple assure that they are not engaged, even as they spend their year anniversary together in Cabo, Mexico.
Gomez and Bieber are in Mexico to attend the wedding one of Gomez’s close friends, costume designer Shannon Larossi, who she met on the set of her show, “Wizards of Waverly Place.” Gomez will serve as a bridesmaid for Larossi and will also sing at her reception, the Daily Mail reports.
But Bieber, 17, and Gomez, 19, say they aren’t thinking about their own wedding bells.
“There is no ring and no engagement,” Bieber’s rep tells E! News.
Gomez’s rep echoed the same sentiment to Us Weekly, “She’s NOT engaged.”
The couple was spotted poolside in Cabo yesterday, looking very happy together. Gomez wore a turquoise bikini and hoop earrings while Bieber opted for long denim shorts. As they flirted in lounge chairs, Bieber took out a camera and snapped a photo of his girlfriend, his arm resting on her leg. Soon after, Gomez climbed over Bieber to get to her cellphone.
It’s been exactly a year since Bieber and Gomez were first spotted together, holding hands as they ate breakfast at an IHOP restaurant in Philadelphia before the Q102 Jingle Ball. The pair left the pancake haven arm-in-arm.
The two recreated the date last month, heading to an IHOP in Encino, Calif., the morning after the American Music Awards. Sources say the pair left a 200 percent tip.
