Demi Lovato has been staying in a sober living facility for more than a year in her effort to stay on the straight and narrow, Page Six has confirmed.
The former Disney star famously suffered an emotional breakdown in 2010 and checked herself into rehab to cope with bipolar disorder, bulimia and a struggle with cutting. She also admitted to abusing cocaine in the past, claiming that club promoters supplied her with the drug as well as alcohol.
According to reports, after Lovato exited rehab, she initially felt better but later decided she needed more support and especially from people who understood her situation.
Even though the “X Factor” judge has her own home, TMZ reports she’s been staying in a “spartan living facility” in Los Angeles where she resides with other recovering addicts and receives guidance from counselors.
Sources told the gossip site that during the entire season of “X Factor” Lovato felt it was necessary to come home to the facility so she wouldn’t slip back into her old ways.
It is unclear how long she will stay at the facility.
