One of Hurricane Sandy’s heroes is heading to the Super Bowl, thanks to New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees.
New York firefighter Billy Smith, a member of Company 268 in the Rockaways, was honored Friday for his service at the Super Service Challenge press conference at the Times Square Marriott Marquis.
Brees spoke about his work with the organization that gave away $1.5 million to nonprofits this year.
After introducing Smith, Brees surprised Billy with a signed football and a pair of tickets to Sunday’s big game.
We hear Smith’s dad is flying in from Florida to go with him.
New York Giants defensive end Justin Tuck was also on hand to thank Smith for his service.
