MoMA show draws Bey, Jay-Z and more stars

A preview and after-party for MoMA’s annual Armory Show brought together stars, billionaire collectors and downtown culture vultures Wednesday. Jay-Z and Beyoncé arrived at an opening bash at the museum as Bey’s sister Solange Knowles began a five-song set for 500 guests, including Jessica Biel and Alexa Chung. Backstage, Beyoncé was overheard telling Solange she was so proud, she “had to hold back tears” during the gig. Spotted at the preview of the art fair at Piers 92 and 94 were Michael Stipe, Peter Brant, Vladimir Doronin, Tony Shafrazi, ACME whiz Jon Neidich and collector Peter Hort. We hear Hort’s parents, collectors Michael and Susan
Hort, will host their annual Armory event this weekend to show off selections from more than 2,500 works by artists including Richard Prince, John Currin and Cindy Sherman. Their Sunday brunch exhibition at the Rema Hort Mann Foundation on Hudson Street is being curated by Jamie Cohen Hort, and last year drew 2,000 guests. They’ll also host a VIP preview of the show tonight.
