Comic Sandra Bernhard got serious at a Women’s Education Project benefit at Angel Orensanz the other day. Bernhard, there to do stand-up, instead went on a tear about raising children (no cellphones in bed!), women and acceptance. “We’re talking about the end of the patriarchy,” she said. “White men . . . you have to roll over and become a little more complacent . . . let women run the show because you’ve [bleeped] it up.” Near the end of her 15-minute rant, she stated, “I stopped being funny, but you’re still enjoying looking at me. You’re a little overwhelmed and confused, but I don’t care.”
