Leah Remini files missing persons report for Scientology leader’s wife

Leah Remini’s ugly split with Scientology just got dragged into the mud even further.

The “King of Queens” actress has filed a missing persons reporter for the wife of the religion’s leader, David Miscavige, according to the Undergound Bunker website. The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed with The Hollywood Reporter that there is an ongoing investigastion regarding Michelle “Shelly” Miscavige, who has not been seen in publicly in six years.

One of the reasons for Remini’s departure from Scientology is because she asked about Miscavige’s wife’s absence at the marriage of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes in November 2006. The Underground Bunker reports that when Remini asked about Shelly’s whereabouts, church spokesman said: “You don’t have the f—— rank to ask about Shelly.”

The Underground Bunker, which focuses on the inner workings of Scientology, reports that Shelly Miscavige was transferred from Scientology’s headquarters near Hemet, Calif., to a compound near Lake Arrowhead in late 2005 or early 2006. The compound, which reportedly houses about a dozen scientologists, is allegedly cut off from the entire outside world.

Miscavige has not confirmed his wife’s whereabouts. Scientology officials have reportedly vehemently denied that she’s missing.

Remini questions whether Shelly has freedom of movement or is being “punished for her own shortcomings,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
