Bridgehampton restaurant Topping Rose House, helmed by “Top Chef” judge Tom Colicchio, was packed with A-list diners on Friday night. At around 9 p.m., patrons spotted Barbara Walters with Paul McCartney and his wife, Nancy Shevell, who is Walters’ second cousin. Walters reportedly set up the happy couple before they married in 2011. At another table, ABC newsman George Stephanopoulos and his wife, Ali Wentworth, dined with Michael J. Fox and his wife, Tracy Pollan. Former “Community” actor Chevy Chase was also in the crowd and made his way around the floor to greet his celebrity pals. A spy told us Chase “walked over to Paul and Barbara’s table, then went up to Michael’s table . . . He couldn’t have been nicer.” And while a man who looked like he could have been a security guard protecting one of the boldfaces was briefly at the bar, sources told us the VIPs dined without protection. “Anyone could have gone up to them,” we’re told.
