Gandolfini’s prized Rolex ‘swiped from Rome hotel room’ hours after death: family

A heartless crook apparently ripped off James Gandolfini’s prized Rolex after his unexpected death in Rome this summer.

“The Sopranos” actor’s $3,000 timepiece was allegedly swiped from his hotel room within hours of his passing, family reps told the celebrity gossip Web site TMZ.

The insurance papers don’t list a suspect, but it was implied that an opportunistic thief made off with Gandolfini’s Rolex submariner in the pandemonium that erupted inside his Boscolo Exedra Hotel room once the unresponsive actor was found on June 19.

The beloved 51-year-old New Jersey native was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. An autopsy found that Gandolfini died of a heart attack.
