Who knew Simon Cowell was such a softie?
It’s clear from these photos that the acid-tongued former “American Idol” judge melts every time he holds his newborn boy.
On Sunday, Cowell tweeted three photos of his 2-day-old son, Eric, including one in which he holds him to his chest and another with the baby and the child’s mom, Lauren Silverman.
“I never knew how much love and pride I would feel,” Cowell tweeted under the picture of him holding little Eric against him.
Under the photo of the three of them, he said, “Mum, Dad and Eric. Now two days old . . . now you can see how very handsome little Eric is.”
Cowell was tweeting from Lenox Hill Hospital, where Eric was born on Valentine’s Day.
Mother and child checked out on Sunday accompanied by Cowell, who secured Eric into a baby seat in the back of a black Range Rover before hugging several nurses.
“Thank you very much,” Cowell said to well-wishers outside the hospital.
Silverman was beaming, as well, and said, “I feel amazing!”
