Kate Winslet has a baby boy

It’s a boy for Kate Winslet!

The Oscar-winning actress, 38, and her third husband, Ned Rocknroll, the 35-year-old nephew of Virgin tycoon Richard Branson, has welcomed a 9-pound boy into the world, a source close to the family told me. Winslet’s representative confirms the baby was born Saturday, December 7, at a hospital in England’s Sussex County, adding: “Mother and baby are doing great.”

Winslet, who now has had a child with each of three different husbands, has also responded to criticism of her parenting of Mia, 13, and Joe, 9. “People go, ‘Oh, my God! Those poor children. They must have gone through so much,’ ” she told Vogue. “They don’t go from pillar to post; they’re not flown here and there with nannies. That’s never happened . . . My children live with me. That is it. That is it.”

When she hasn’t been in labor, Winslet has been busy promoting “Labor Day,” in which she plays a single mother who offers a ride to a wounded escaped convict, played by Josh Brolin. Things take a Stockholm-syndrome turn for her character. The movie hits theaters at the end of January.
