All-star crowd welcomes Billy Crystal back to Broadway

An all-star crowd came out to welcome Billy Crystal back to Broadway in his revived one-man show “700 Sundays” on Wednesday.

Late-night rivals David Letterman and Jimmy Fallon were seen sitting in the same row at the Imperial Theatre, near Letterman sidekick Paul Shaffer, Bette Midler and Regis Philbin.

But NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was so tall, at 7-foot-2, he had trouble finding a comfy spot.

“He could barely sit on an aisle,” said a spy, “so they gave him a front-row seat.” But, “He still wasn’t comfortable, so ushers offered him a spot up in a side balcony, where there were actual chairs.”

Also at the show and an after-party were Brooke Shields, Jill and Bobby Zarin and Sean Young.
