Liz Goldwyn, granddaughter of Hollywood mogul Samuel Goldwyn, doesn’t just collect vintage, she wears it until it falls apart.
“Clothes are meant to be worn,” the filmmaker, artist and co-founder of Sotheby’s NYC fashion department told us at Jane’s Ballroom. “A 1920s dress I wore on my 21st birthday . . . literally disintegrated on me. I had the most wild debauched night. And that disintegrated dress sits in my closet, such a great memory,” she said at an event for Moda Operandi’s Vintage Vanguard collection, which features her and Karen Elson’s personal items reworked by designers Zac Posen and Anna Sui.
