UK’s Prince Andrew narrowly sidesteps a double entendre

Britain’s Prince Andrew almost committed a royal faux pas as he was honored Friday evening at the Military Ball. The Duke of York was serenaded by singer-songwriter Sylvia Tosun, who sang both the US and UK national anthems.

During the event, Tosun had an impromptu chat with Andrew, who remarked, “I hear you are quite the singer.” Looking straight at the alluring Tosun, he added, with a straight face, “Do you perform most evenings?”

We’re told the blushing singer politely responded, assuming His Royal Highness was not making a sexual double-entendre. Also honored at the Pierre Hotel was Bob Woodruff, who spoke about his foundation’s efforts to assist military veterans and their families.
