T-Mobile CEO John Legere was thrown out of rival AT&T’s CES party after he tried to crash wearing a t-shirt emblazoned with his company logo.
Legere, who has apparently been trying to crash AT&T’s party for a while, was intercepted by security and escorted out of the telecom giant’s Consumer Electronics Show party at Las Vegas’ Palms Hotel on Monday night, according to recode.net.
Legere – wearing his company’s magenta T-Mobile logo shirt – insisted he wasn’t looking to make a scene, insisting he just wanted to see the party’s headline act.
“I just wanted to hear Macklemore,” Legere told Re/code.
“All of a sudden these gigantic goons said ‘Can I talk to you over here,’” Legere said adding that he was told that if he didn’t leave immediately he would be charged with trespassing.
But his brazen move was a hit on Twitter. @davidhodge229 wrote “@JohnLegere sets the new standard for CEOs. His troll skills are second to none”.
The battle between T-Mobile and AT&T has been growing more and more heated. AT&T announced a promotion last week offering up to $450 in credit to T-Mobile customers to switch to them.
Legere responded by calling the move “desperate”.
We await AT&T CEO Randall L. Stephenson’s next move.
