Uma Thurman was a low-key but welcome guest at the opening of David LaChapelle‘s exhibition “From Darkness to Light” Thursday night at Lever House. While the photographers focused on LaChapelle and his close friend, fashion muse Daphne Guinness — who wore an eye-catching black slashed dress, a net veil and silver gloves — “Uma quietly came in and was walking around studying David’s work,” a spy said. “She stayed low-key until David spotted her and gave her a hug, at which point photographers started snapping. She chatted with him for 30 minutes, then slipped out and hailed a cab.”
