Magazine editrix Carine Roitfeld is sticking up for CR Fashion Book cover star Kim Kardashian, who was pregnant when she did the shoot. “I think people are very tough in fashion,” the former French Vogue editor told us at the screening of her documentary “Mademoiselle C” at Florence Gould Hall Friday. “When we photographed her pregnant — I love pregnant women — she was beautiful. She was beautiful to cover; she is beautiful inside. She gave us a lot of confidence, and I am thankful for that. I think she’s happy now. She has her baby, North, and I hope this will be a good souvenir for her.” Will North appear in an upcoming issue? “Maybe,” she said. “You know I love babies.” Roitfeld was less enthusiastic about being the subject of the doc: “I hate it. I think it’s very difficult. It’s very scary. You start a new magazine with new people, plus you have the microphone and the camera, and it’s very scary for me and my team, too. I did not do it for personal — for me it was like a job, like, ‘Let’s do something for the next magazine.’ I did not expect it to be so personal, and when I saw the screening the first time, I said, ‘Ahh.’ I never like myself, not the best favorite moment of the film. I prefer the other moments.”
