Bernie Williams takes center stage at opening

Bernie Williams enjoyed watching himself perform at the opening bash for NYY Steak Thursday night in Midtown.

The retired Yankee performed a 45-minute set with his All Star Band for guests including past and current Yankees Mark Teixeira, David Cone, Roy White, and Dwight Gooden, then headed downstairs into the Vault Room for dinner.

Sources say Williams got a glimpse of tapes of his Yankee days on the flat-screen TV while dining with his band mates.

NYY Steaks’ Vault Room is a 16-seat private dining room housed in an old bank vault, and holds artifacts including replicas of Yankee contracts for Mickey Mantle, Lou Gehrig and Yogi Berra, and a 1919 document of Babe Ruth’s trade from the Boston Red Sox to the New York Yankees.
