Healthy fast food chain Energy Kitchen abruptly closes

New York health junkies were stunned when calorie-conscious eatery Energy Kitchen suddenly shuttered on Friday.

The company left messages on its Facebook page saying, “We have made the difficult decision to close all of our NYC and Long Island locations — so it’s time for Energy Kitchen to say good-bye to all of our loyal customers.

Thank you so much for your support over the years — it has been our pleasure to serve you.”

Energy Kitchen opened in 1998 and served healthy dishes all under 500 calories. It had recently closed two of nearly 20 locations in Midtown for renovations, but opened one on Park Avenue South in September.
