Alec moves in with young love

Alec Baldwin is settling down as he advances his political ambitions.

The 53-year-old perennial bachelor, who has his eye on a mayoral run, also seems to have his heart set on marriage with 27-year-old yoga instructor Hilaria Thomas.

Sources close to the “30 Rock” star confirmed to us that Baldwin has sold his 300 Central Park West apartment at the famed Art Deco Eldorado to move in with his girlfriend downtown.

A man of the people, Baldwin in a recent interview described the Upper West Side neighborhood where his luxury apartment was listed for $9.5 million as “more middle-class” and “not a little kind of jewel-box, privileged pocket of the city like some neighborhoods are.”

Moving on from his uptown roots, sources say Baldwin purchased an apartment in SoHo favored by raven-haired beauty Thomas, who teaches yoga at Union Square studio Yoga Vida.

“He’s really in love,” a source said. “He’s even met her parents. He sees marriage in the near future.”

The two have even been wearing what appear to be promise rings. Baldwin, who played in the annual Artists/Writers softball charity game in East Hampton last weekend, sported Thomas’ green hair band on his ring finger while Thomas flaunted a round diamond on a platinum band which she said belonged to her grandmother.

When asked by a fellow attendee if marriage was in the future, Thomas was overheard saying, “Let’s see how it goes.” Also at the game were former Yankee Jim Leyritz and his and Baldwin’s literary agent Karen Gantz Zahler.

Meanwhile, Baldwin, who said he would probably sit out the 2013 mayoral race because of his commitment to “30 Rock,” seemed eager to get advice from Sen. Chuck Schumer at the East Hampton Library Author Night.

Schumer was overheard telling Baldwin, “Oh, I heard a rumor you’re running for mayor.” Baldwin quipped back, “Don’t believe everything you read in the paper.” But Schumer, who mentored disgraced ex-Congressman Anthony Weiner on his mayoral aspirations, responded, “Let’s talk.” Baldwin also chatted up former New York Democratic Party chairwoman Judith Hope at the event.

He has said he plans to enroll in a master’s program in politics and government in fall 2012. Baldwin’s rep declined to comment last night.
