Art star Damien Hirst has pickled a shark, displayed a rotting cow and encrusted a human skull with diamonds. Now he’s tattooed a model’s nether regions for Dasha Zhukova’s new art magazine, Garage. Hirst’s handiwork, a green-and-black butterfly, was inked by London tattoo artist Mo Coppoletta. A photo of the woman’s naked lower half by Hedi Slimane graces the cover of Garage’s upcoming first issue with a butterfly sticker over it and instructions urging the reader to, “Peel slowly and see.” (The mystery model is now walking around with arguably the world’s most valuable privates.) The image is racy enough that one UK news chain has asked Garage to provide alternate cover images. Richard Prince, Jeff Koons, John Baldessari and Dinos Chapman also designed tattoos for the mag that were permanently inked. If you can tear yourself away from the cover art, Garage also features contributions by Max Snow, Juergen Teller, Tavi Gevinson and Marina Abramovic.
