MIAMI — French actor Olivier Martinez has confirmed that he is engaged to Halle Berry.
Speaking to the Miami Herald’s website while promoting his new restaurant, Villa Azur, he addressed the engagement rumors by saying, “Yes, of course it’s true.”
Though tabloids reported in early January that Martinez, 46, had proposed, neither party confirmed that they were set to wed.
The rumors were furthered when Berry, 45, filed a court petition in February to relocate her three-year-old daughter — whose father is Berry’s ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry — to France.
Berry and Aubry have had an on-off custody battle for their daughter, Nahla, since they split in 2010. Berry and Martinez began dating in late 2010.
Martinez, best known for his role as Diane Lane’s lover in “Unfaithful,” had previously dated Australian pop star Kylie Minogue. He was also linked to English hottie Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Oscar winner Mira Sorvino.
