Prince Harry says that his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, has quite the sense of humor — and that it’s almost as good as his own.

“She is very funny. I think she gets it from my grandfather. They are very funny together,” Prince Harry says of the Queen and Prince Phillip, the Duke of Edinburgh, while speaking to The Telegraph. “My family is the same as any other family when it comes to humor behind closed doors, though I’d like to think I was funnier than my grandmother.”

QUEEN ELIZABETH AND DUCHESS OF CAMBRIDGE KICK OFF DIAMOND JUBILEE TOUR

While the Queen launched her Diamond Jubilee tour last week with The Duchess of Cambridge at her side, Prince Harry has been on a tour of his own, visiting Belize, Jamaica, the Bahamas and Brazil. On Saturday, the Prince ran a charity race in Rio De Janeiro and in a comical turn, sported a Prince William mask, a subtle jab at his brother who is currently on a military mission in the Falkland Islands.

“Prince Harry concluded his tour Sunday with a charity polo match outside of Sao Paulo, Brazil. When his team won the match, Prince Harry was presented a winner’s cup and got a congratulatory kiss on the cheek from Brazilian model Fernanda Motto.

“I’m absolutely exhausted but the warmth of the reception that we’ve received from every single country that we’ve been to, including Brazil, has been utterly amazing,” Prince Harry said after the match. “I personally had no idea how much warmth there was towards the Queen. To me that’s been very humbling and I was actually quite choked up seeing the way that they’re celebrating her 60 years. She’s thousands of miles away and yet they celebrated her in the way they did and made me feel so welcome, so I couldn’t thank them more.”

The prince also explained that he spoke with the Queen before heading out on the tour.

“We had a great chat. She wished me luck and she said ‘Enjoy it, I hope you do me proud,'” he said. “It was a typical grandmother to grandson chat.”

And in another joking swipe at his brother Prince William, Prince Harry told the BBC, “Everything about Rio makes you want to dance. I’m just so thankful that my brother isn’t here because he might actually do it … and that would not be cool.”
