Tony Scott’s ten-gallon tribute

The real stars at the private memorial service for Tony Scott were the six Marlboro Men, all wearing 10-gallon hats and belt buckles, who came to pay their respects to the man who directed the commercials. The cowboys eclipsed Brad Pitt, Mickey Rourke, James Gandolfini, Andy Garcia and the hundreds who packed the Academy Theater in LA Friday, writes The Post’s Richard Johnson. Among those eulogizing Scott were Jerry Bruckheimer, Denzel Washington and Gary Oldman. Via video, Tom Cruise recounted that while filming “Top Gun,” Tony demanded that an aircraft carrier be turned around. An admiral balked, citing costs, so Scott wrote a check on the spot. “What you didn’t know is that Tony stopped payment on the check the next day,” Cruise said.
