A very hot time in St. Barts

The New Year’s parties on St. Barts were so hot, the plush Caribbean island actually caught fire. Sources tell us that fireworks in the port of Gustavia sparked a large hillside blaze that could be seen by all the wealthy vacationers on their yachts just after ringing in 2013. An island source told us, “The wind blew sparks from the fireworks onto a green hillside, which went up in flames. It was near some houses but they did not catch fire. Everyone was watching from their yachts as the fire department worked.” Dasha Zhukhova and Roman Abramovich threw their annual bash at their huge villa on Governeurs Beach. Sources tell us they paid the Kings of Leon “in the high six figures” to perform for guests including Sean Combs, Calvin Klein, Sandy Gallin, Samantha Boardman and Aby Rosen, Tico Mugrabi, Tony Shafrazi and Vera Wang. Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros performed before the Kings took the stage. A source told us, “Dasha is six months pregnant with a girl. She looked radiant in a beige chiffon gown with flowers embroidered on it and her hair braided. Roman had on a black T-shirt and jeans.” Meanwhile, billionaire Ronald Perelman was toasted at his 70th birthday and New Year’s Eve party on his yacht moored in Gustavia harbor. Guests — who could see the fire in the distance — included Jon Bon Jovi, Lorraine Bracco, Bob Kraft, Tamara Mellon, Jimmy Buffett, Rob Wiesenthal, Roger Waters, Netscape founder Jim Clark,
Channing Tatum and Twitter’s Jack Dorsey. A source told us, “They showed a video about Ron which was organized by his wife, Anna, and directed by Brett Ratner.”
