Bradley Cooper’s post-split silver lining

Bradley Cooper isn’t exactly crying on the couch post-split from Zoe Saldana.

The actor was in high spirits Saturday night at the 24th annual Palm Springs International Film Festival gala in Palm Springs, California, where he was awarded the Desert Palm Achievement trophy for excellence in acting.

Cooper was also celebrating his 38th birthday. Fans serenaded him as he walked the red carpet, and his fellow A-listers burst into song as well as the “Silver Linings Playbook” star made his way to the stage, to pick out his trophy from the film’s director, David O. Russell.

“Hearing his speech was the ultimate birthday present, I have to say,” Cooper revealed backstage.

Cooper, 38, was decidedly more low-key over New Year’s Eve, which he had initially planned to spend with Saldana, 34.

Instead, while she partied solo in Miami, he headed back home for some quality time with his family in Philadelphia, were he was spotted watching the famed Mummer’s Day parade on New Year’s Day. “He looked like he was having a great time!” eyewitness Suzy Givnish tells Page Six exclusively. Mingling with the crowds on Broad Street, “He really looked like he was enjoying himself.”

Up next for the star will be the Golden Globes, where, he told reporters Saturday, he plans to walk the red carpet solo.
