Brooks Ayers is ready to air his dirty laundry.
“Real Housewives of Orange County” star Vicki Gunvalson’s ex-boyfriend appeared regularly on the Bravo reality show in the five years the couple was together and is shopping a tell-all book, which he says will reveal the truth behind reputation-damaging storylines (like he was faking cancer) that he claims producers fabricated for ratings.
“They basically pitched me as this poor guy from Mississippi preying on a vulnerable, successful, self-made woman,” he told Page Six on Tuesday. “I’m not bound contractually by anything to not share the intel about what transpires behind production, Bravo, what they try to do, etc.”

“I didn’t fake cancer,” he asserted, addressing reports he faked non-Hodgkin lymphoma for personal gain. “Who in their right mind would fake cancer?”
Since splitting with the reality star in July, Ayers moved from California to the Midwest to be closer to his 7-year-old son and three older children from previous relationships.
The 48-year-old says he already has done “quite a bit of writing in preparation” and the response he’s been getting from publishers is “pretty overwhelming.”
While he admits to willingly participating in the TV drama, Ayers is hoping the exposé will rehab his tarnished public image and blames much of the backlash on Gunvalson’s 28-year-old daughter, Briana Culberson.
“[She] hates my guts … and got paid handsomely the past three seasons to do nothing but bring drama into her own mom’s life regarding me. I’m going to expose all of that,” he revealed.
Despite vowing to spill his ex’s secrets, he asserts he has no hard feelings for his 53-year-old ex and says they would still be together if he hadn’t been brought into the “RHOC” drama.
“I want nothing but the best for her and she wants the best for me,” he declared. “I’m not doing this because she did it to me, but she’s a grown woman and she’s making business decisions to continue earning money. I’m a grown man and I want to do what I can do to rehab my reputation … and you can’t do it on reality TV.”
Request for comment from a rep for Bravo and Gunvalson was not immediately returned.
