Rosario Dawson was among hundreds of protestors arrested at a “Democracy Spring” demonstration in Washington, D.C. on Friday.

The “Daredevil” star, 36, and her fellow protestors were arrested for crowding and obstructing after they crossed a police line to engage in a sit-in to raise awareness about the corruption and special interests that dominate elections in the U.S., reports the Guardian.

“I wanted personally to be in solidarity with the other folks who put themselves on the line and really just to bring attention to this because I think that’s just vitally important,” she told the paper.

Dawson, a vocal Bernie Sanders supporter, was briefly detained for processing and has to pay a $50 fine. She’s just one of over 800 people over five days of “Democracy Spring” protests on Capitol Hill.
