The lead singer of the classic rock band Steely Dan was busted Monday for allegedly shoving his wife into a marble window frame — and now she’s filing for divorce.
But singer Libby Titus, 69, later changed her tune and said she wouldn’t press charges against her hubby.
Donald Fagen, 67, was in a verbal dispute with Libby when he grabbed her by the arms and pushed her to the ground, police said.
“I don’t feel good,” Libby told The Post when reached by phone. “I’m very tired and I’m divorcing my husband.”
Donald allegedly shoved her “by placing his hands on her arms and rapidly extending his arms in the direction of said frame, causing her to fall onto the frame and suffer bruising and swelling to her right arm, as well as substantial pain,” according to the criminal complaint.
The alleged assault happened at 5:30 p.m. inside the couple’s Upper East Side apartment on East 92nd Street, court papers show.
Libby suffered a bruised arm with a raised bump, police said.
Fagen was arraigned Tuesday in Manhattan Criminal Court on one count each of assault and harassment. He was released without bail. An order of protection was issued for his wife, a singer-songwriter best known for a 1977 folk-rock album co-produced by Paul Simon and Carly Simon, among others.
But when The Post contacted Libby a second time, she explained she’d just changed her mind about pressing charges.
“I just spoke to his manager. I called him, and we’re friends. I don’t know what to do. I can’t talk to you about it. I’m not going to press charges,” she said, declining to elaborate.
After that explanation, she asked again who was calling and then exclaimed, “I’m not talking to anyone from The Post, are you crazy?” — then hung up. Steely Dan was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001.
