Tommy Mottola took $150K advance without writing book: suit

Former Sony CEO Tommy Mottola is accused of running off with a $150,000 advance for a book he never wound up writing, according to a lawsuit filed Monday.

Mottola — who was briefly married to singer Mariah Carey in the ’90s — signed on with Hachette Book Group in 2011 to pen an inspirational book about his rise to success called “The Bronx School of Business,” the Manhattan federal court lawsuit says.

But the publisher claims Mottola reneged on finishing the manuscript by April 2012 — even though Hachette offered twice to extend the deadline.

Attempts to reach Mottola were unsuccessful.
