Mariah Carey’s pampered pups only fly first class

Of course Mariah Carey’s dogs fly first class, and following her engagement to Australian billionaire James Packer, the singer is jetting her pampered pooches on their own to Los Angeles to move into their lavish new home.

Carey’s canine coterie flew first class on American Airlines on Monday from Aspen, Colo., where she also has a home. She traveled to LA on her own from New York just days after Packer presented her with a 35-carat diamond ring worth $10 million.

Sources say two of the pop superstar’s pups, Jack Russells named Cha Cha and Jill E. Beans, rode in the deluxe cabin to join her and Packer in LA.

One said, “Mariah’s dogs only fly first. But the two pets hate each other, so [they] have to be placed in separate kennels for the journey and travel with two separate members of her staff.” The trip will cost over $2,000 per pooch, according to the source.

Mariah is in LA preparing for her return to Las Vegas for her residency next week. Then she will embark on an international tour from March to May before returning to Vegas in June.

Carey has been spending more time in LA since she began dating Packer, but the source says, “She’s a New York girl by heart and loves living here. I’m curious to see if they’ll spend half their time here and half their time there.”

Carey and Packer are moving into an 18,000-square-foot home in the exclusive community of the Oaks in Calabasas, Calif., costing about $250,000 a month. The spread boasts its own movie theater, gym and spa.

A source tells us Carey is “too busy with work to focus on wedding plans right now,” and we’re told her divorce with Nick Cannon isn’t yet final, even though the two split in August 2014, because they can’t agree on custody terms for their 4-year-old twins, Moroccan Scott and Monroe. Carey’s rep didn’t comment.
