While many New Yorkers are invariably stuck going to an aunt or cousin’s house in some subpar suburb for Thanksgiving, VIPs and celebrities are flocking to the Hamptons for their turkey thrills.

For example, plugged-in spies say “Law & Order: SVU” star Mariska Hargitay and her actor husband Peter Hermann will host their annual Turkey Bowl at East Hampton’s Herrick Park this weekend. Last year, the event brought out players and fans from Alec Baldwin to George Stephanopoulos.

Meanwhile, we hear Cox Communications heiress Kathy Rayner and her husband, ex-Condé Nast publishing executive William, have rented East Hampton’s formerly famously decrepit Grey Gardens estate from Sally Quinn, who restored the place with husband Ben Bradlee. The Rayners are hosting their turkey dinner there for friends while their own 15-acre “ocean-to-pond compound” is under construction.

Also out in the Hamptons for Thanksgiving are Steven Spielberg and Lorne Michaels, sources said.

Activities for A-listers will include sold-out movie screenings. Alejandro González Iñárritu and Leonardo DiCaprio’s upcoming “The Revenant” will privately screen at the UA East Hampton Cinema 6 on Saturday for guests including “SNL” guru Michaels, Matt Lauer, Rudy Giuliani, John McEnroe and Stefano Tonchi.

On Friday, Tom Hooper’s “The Danish Girl” is showing at the Guild Hall for a crowd expected to include Hargitay and Hermann, Stephanopoulos, Tonchi, Anh Duong and Edgar Bronfman Jr.

We hear both screenings’ organizer Peggy Siegal said to attendees in the spirit of the holiday, “This is the one time houseguests are welcome.”

For those who can’t handle holiday traffic, Valentino’s hosting a “Danish Girl” screening on Sunday at the Crosby Street Hotel in town with a party to follow at Pravda.

Another Hamptons insider added on Wednesday of the weekend: “All classes at SoulCycle are sold out!”
