Photog friend exposes marital ‘problems’ for Depp and Heard

Amber Heard’s close friendship with photographer Io Tillett Wright is causing drama in her marriage to Johnny Depp, Page Six has exclusively learned.

Tillett is an activist in the gay and lesbian community who produced the notable project “Self Evident Truths,” portraits of more than 2,000 subjects who identify themselves as “anything other than straight.” Depp and the openly bisexual Heard were married in February on Depp’s private island in the Bahamas, but sources tell us there are already “problems” in the marriage, in part due to Heard’s friendship with Wright.

We’re told Wright and Heard became close friends in ’12, and at one point Wright moved into Depp’s guest house. But a source said Depp “doesn’t like Io” and believed Heard and Wright “were spending too much time together for it to be comfortable.” Wright eventually moved out of Depp’s guest house.

Heard was spotted with Wright at the Tiffany & Co. Blue Book event in New York Wednesday night, where spies said they looked cozy. Wright also posted a picture of the two together on her Tumblr feed Friday, with the caption: “I am so proud of my love Amber Heard, for her performances, for defying stereotype, and for being a strong, out bisexual woman in a world that wants her to pick a team. It’s a big week for this birthday girl, and I’m so grateful to call her my family.”

Heard and Wright were also seen together Thursday night at Tribeca’s American Cut for “The Adderall Diaries” premiere afterparty. “They sat at a table together with a bunch of blondes. They did go to the bathroom together and shared some appetizers,” a source told us.

Wright, who lives in Brooklyn, posted a photo on Instagram Tuesday of an unmade empty bed at the Bowery Hotel, where Heard was said to be staying this week. Wright included the caption: “The past and the future on either side you can’t see, a little slice of time for us to attach our fantasy narratives to.”

On Friday night, Heard celebrated her 29th birthday with Wright, Ashley Olsen and a group of girls at Queen of the Night at the Paramount Hotel in Midtown. A source told us: “All the ladies stole the dance floor after the show, slow dancing with each other and twirling each other around. It was a no-boys-allowed kind of night.”

Reps for Wright, Depp and Heard didn’t respond to repeated requests for comment.
