Sofía Vergara and fiancé Joe Manganiello have postponed their wedding this summer due to his movie “Magic Mike XXL.”
Speaking to Page Six at the Vanity Fair Oscar party, the couple revealed they’d hoped to tie the knot this summer, but instead will do so later this year. He popped the question in Hawaii after they dated for six months.
Flashing her huge diamond ring in a strapless Zuhair Murad beaded gown Sofía said was so tight, “it’s killing me,” the “Modern Family” star, 42, said, “We wanted to get married this summer, but Joe will be busy working and promoting ‘Magic Mike 2.’” The film, based on Channing Tatum’s time as a stripper, comes out July 1.
“We want to get married at a time when we can get away and make time for a honeymoon,” she added, “So the wedding will probably be later this year.” Manganiello jokingly chimed in: “I would love to get married this summer, but I’m going to be too busy promoting my male stripper movie!”
Vergara’s own “Hot Pursuit” with Reese Witherspoon is set for release in May.
The pretty pair mingled with a host of stars at the hot-ticket VF party hosted by Graydon Carter, including Julianne Moore, Eddie Redmayne, Lupita Nyong’o and Jared Leto. Jay Z and Beyoncé made an entrance in matching white outfits and occupied a booth with Jennifer Lopez and comic Kevin Hart, who says he’s campaigning to host the Oscars next year.
Also at the party in a custom-built space occupying an entire city block near Beverly Hills City Hall were Jane Fonda, Anjelica Huston, Steve Martin, Natalie Portman, Don Rickles, Conan O’Brien, J.J. Abrams, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, Steve Jobs’ widow Laurene Powell, legendary music producer Rick Rubin, fashion designer Tom Ford, artist John Currin, and high-society staple Betsy Bloomingdale.
Also making the guest list were crusading US Attorney Preet Bharara, Apple’s chief designer Jonathan Ive, NBCUniversal’s Ron Meyer, CBS’s Les Moonves, Elon Musk, Barry Diller, Irving Azoff and Leonard Lauder.
