Jeffrey Deitch, back from his wild Miley Cyrus bash at Art Basel Miami, called on a coterie of arty friends Monday to escape Manhattan for Jersey City.

“What’s happening in the art world now is that people have no problem going to Brooklyn or Queens or Jersey City,” explained Deitch, who hosted a celebration of choreographer Karole Armitage’s Armitage Foundation at art center Mana Contemporary. “It’s really opened up beyond Manhattan. There’s no barrier anymore.”

Guests Will Cotton, James Ivory, Ross Bleckner, Glenn O’Brien, Harif Guzman and Deitch’s co-host for the evening, Town & Country’s Jay Fielden, were treated to dance performances and a retrospective of work by Armitage, who’s collaborated with Jeff Koons, David Salle and Jean Paul Gaultier.
