Williams played anti-suicide advocate in eerie movie role

In 2009’s “World’s Greatest Dad,” Robin Williams played a failed writer whose on-screen son accidentally kills himself during an act of auto-erotic asphyxiation.

But Williams’ character stages the death to look like a conventional suicide and then inadvertently becomes an anti-suicide advocate.

In a now-eerie scene, Williams’ character Lance Clayton says suicide is never the answer.

“If you’re that depressed, reach out to someone,” he said. “And remember, suicide is a permanent solution to temporary problems.”
