Barry Sternlicht, the former Starwood Hotels CEO and creator of W Hotels, is working on a new billion-dollar project.
Sternlicht, chairman and CEO of real estate investment firm Starwood Capital Group, is developing a new hotel concept, 1 Hotels, a luxury, eco-friendly, “nature-inspired lifestyle brand.”
It will launch in a few months with properties at Sixth Avenue and 58th Street, in Dumbo by the Brooklyn Bridge, and South Beach.
We’re told they’ll include galleries of plants, farm stands in the lobby, and farm-to-table food from chefs including Tom Colicchio and Jonathan Waxman. Sternlicht’s advisory board includes Boris Nikolic, Bill Gates‘ chief adviser for science and technology, and FEED founder Lauren Bush Lauren.
