A woman came between Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth.
But it wasn’t a new flame vying for the “Hunger Games” actor’s heart, it was his sister-in-law, Elsa Pataky, according to a report.
A source close to the Hemsworth family tells Radar Online, that a major reason why the pop star, 20, and actor, 23, split, is because older brother Chris Hemsworth’s wife didn’t care for the former “Hannah Montana” star.
“She spent the last year freezing Miley out in some kind of passive-aggressive move,” the source told the gossip site.
Pataky, 37, has been married to the 30-year-old “Thor” star since 2010. They had their first child, daughter India Rose Hemsworth, last year.
Despite their age gap, the couples were close at one point, but hadn’t been seen together in months. Cyrus and Hemsworth, who met on the set of 2010’s “The Last Song,” confirmed their break up in September.
While the two young celebrities seem to have moved on, the source said that Cyrus would still like to get back together with Hemsworth. She’ll have to make nice with Pataky if she wants that to happen, though.
“Miley desperately wants to get back with Liam and believes she can because she’s done it before,” the source said. “But to do that, she’s going to have to win over Elsa!”
