Looks as if lovable lunkhead actor Randy Quaid may be more like the financially strapped character he played in “National Lampoon’s Vacation” than we thought. Texas cops pinched the actor and his wife near the Mexico border yesterday on charges they skipped out on a $10,000 hotel bill in California, officials said. During the arrest, the couple put up a struggle and deputies had to get rough with Quaid’s wife, Evi, who resisted arrest, authorities said. The Quaids are charged with burglary, defrauding an innkeeper and conspiracy. Quaid’s rep did not return calls. Quaid played a hard-nosed sheep rancher in “Brokeback Mountain,” but later sued the film’s producers, claiming he was convinced to work on the cheap when told the film would likely make no money. It took in $82 million at US box offices.
