As Ch. 11 anchor Jim Watkins was crossing 42nd Street at Third Avenue Monday on his way into the studio, a piece of paper blew up against his leg. He looked down at a payroll check. He turned it over to find it was made out for $1,097 to Connor Paolo — Eric from “Gossip Girl,” which airs on Ch. 11. The check was from Paramount and already endorsed by Connor. “Looks like someone’s assistant isn’t doing their job properly,” laughed our source. Paolo’s agent retrieved it later that night.
