Is America ready for Tom Ford, auteur? His sexually charged, homoerotic directorial debut, “A Single Man,” got thumbs-up the other night from Matthew Modine, Zac Posen, Nora Ephron, Cynthia Rowley, Bryan Lourd, Christiane Amanpour, Mike Nichols and film co-star Julianne Moore. At a packed Oak Room after-party, the ex-Gucci guru (above) told Page Six, “I’d like to make a movie every three to four years.” How’d he get into the film biz? “Fifteen years ago I told Harvey Weinstein I wanted to make a movie, and he didn’t laugh.” The Weinstein Co. releases the film Dec. 11.
