Fran Drescher and Jason Alexander are in Australia today to attend the wedding of a couple they’ve never met. Geoffrey Edelsten, 66 — a former doctor who went bankrupt after he was convicted in 1990 of hiring a hit man to assault a patient — is set to marry American fitness trainer Brynne Gordon, 26. Drescher and Alexander — who are to host the ritzy, $3 million extravaganza at Melbourne’s Crown Palladium ballroom — appeared in a video invitation sent out to guests and that also featured Dr. Phil. No word on how much the celebs are being paid for their appearances. The bride and groom, who met in Las Vegas, revealed in a TV interview last week that they had yet to meet the sitcom stars. Edelsten, who is barred from practicing medicine, built a chain of “nip and tuck” plastic-surgery clinics Down Under. Gordon hails from Shawnee, Okla., Brad Pitt‘s hometown.
