E-mail flub exposes Lauren’s rejects

Ralph Lauren Inc. needs to mind its manners. A public relations underling for the fashion empire committed a Fashion Week faux pas when he or she sent out a mass rejection letter to those deemed unworthy of attending the label’s show at Bryant Park — but forgot to make the list “blind.” “Thank you for your interest in attending the Ralph Lauren Collection Fall 2010 Fashion show. At this time, we are currently at full capacity and are unable to accommodate your request. We look forward to working with you in the future,” the e-mail stated. All told, more than 100 people, including representatives from Hearst, Macy’s, Reuters and Fox News, had their e-mail addresses exposed — although we’re not naming names to protect the innocent. A Lauren rep didn’t respond to our request for comment.
