Sinatra-inspired musical ‘Come Fly Away’ banned from Vegas

Investors in the new Twyla Tharp musical, “Come Fly Away,” based on the music of Frank Sinatra, are said to be fuming that they can’t take it to Las Vegas. The show, which opened to boffo business, would be a gold mine in Vegas, where even offbeat productions like “Avenue Q,” which featured gay puppets, have been moved from Broadway. But “Come Fly Away” rep Michael Hartman told us, “The producers knew about the pre-existing deal for Sinatra’s rights in Vegas before they licensed the rights for ‘Come Fly Away.’ This is no surprise, and no one is scrambling.”
