Jeff Shesol, a former White House speechwriter, was overshadowed by his past boss, Bill Clinton, at the Hunter College reception for Shesol’s book, “Supreme Power: Franklin Roosevelt vs. the Supreme Court.” After Hunter College President Jennifer J. Raab introduced Clinton, the husband of former presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton quipped, “Thank you, Madame President. I still like the sound of that” — drawing laughs from the likes of Ted Sorensen, former JFK adviser, and William van den Heuvel, former US ambassador to the European Office of the United Nations.
